Summerfield Street, Sheffield


On behalf of Abode Hallam (and in conjunction with the UK’s largest listed residential landlord, Grainger Plc), Hybrid are charged with responsibility for discharging all conditions to expedite the phased delivery of a major student and build-to-rent scheme in central Sheffield.

The £52 million scheme will see the erection of 7, 8, 9 and 10-storey buildings comprising 150 student cluster units (447 bed spaces), 237 studio/apartments, retail space (Class A1) and café/restaurant (Use Class A3), with new access, under-croft car parking and landscaping works, including works to the Porter Brook embankment.

It will help complete the transformation of the area around Napier Street and Summerfield Street, west of Sheffield’s centre.

Located only a short walk from the Sheffield Hallam and University of Sheffield campuses, as well as the city centre, the scheme also includes a living green roof, and will provide high quality homes built specifically for the rental market, which will significantly contribute to Sheffield city centre’s housing needs, and continued regeneration.
