RTPI Chartership For Elliot
Our senior planner, Elliot Smith has become a Chartered Town Planner.
Elliot has followed the RTPI’s Licentiate route to Chartership, which is the main path for graduates who have completed a fully RTPI accredited qualification and have at least two years’ professional planning experience.
“The application process was intensive,” says Elliot. “I started working on my written submission back in November, which was in three parts and had to detail my practical experience, my professional competence and a professional development plan. So it’s been six months of collating evidence, working with my mentors at Hybrid and refining my application.
“To have now passed and officially be able to add MRTPI after my name feels amazing. Becoming a Chartered Town Planner represents a recognised industry benchmark and symbol of professional credibility. This achievement reflects my commitment to the planning sector and is a proud career milestone,” adds Elliot.
Elliot is Junior Vice Chair for RTPI London, where he and the committee are working on the summer series of events and workshops as well as September’s London Summit. He also volunteers on RTPI London’s Regional Activities Committee and sits on the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion sub-committee.
Our Executive Director, Danielle St Pierre, has mentored Elliot. Danielle adds: “Elliot is one of the planning sector’s brightest young talents and has quickly established himself as a trusted voice for clients, devising successful strategies and achieving positive outcomes on complex regeneration and heritage developments. His work with RTPI London for the past 2.5 years shows he is a genuine role model for emerging planners, and we are thrilled to see him achieve his Chartership.”
