Unanimous Approval at Hillingdon Committee
Our planner, Nickolai Rutherford presented at Hillingdon committee last week, securing unanimous approval for an extension to a private property in the Borough.
Planning permission was secured for a ground-floor rear extension with a basement beneath, providing a new cinema room for the existing property.
“Local residents raised concerns about the potential impact of the excavation works on a protected eucalyptus tree and the associated flood risk, resulting in the application being considered at planning committee,” explains Nickolai. “However, we were able to demonstrate that specialist consultants had been engaged to assess and address both concerns, giving committee members confidence that any potential impacts could be adequately mitigated through planning conditions.
“We also demonstrated that the proposed extension would remain subordinate to the existing dwelling, preserving the character and quality of the surrounding area. This was my first time speaking at planning committee, so I’m particularly pleased to have secured a unanimous decision in favour of the application,” adds Nickolai.
